Polymer play day

I have been playing with polymer clay today.   I had to dust off the box of clay and tools because it has been a while, but once I got back into it, it was really fun! Above are the start of the three birds I am doing for Kristen.  Once they are baked I will decorate them with white pigment ink....stay tuned for an update.

I also played around with some jewellery frames.  I was especially happy with the butterflies.  They were going to be earrings to my madeit store, but I am thinking of keeping them for myself (as I regularly do)

And finally, this little purple blob is a new mouse that I am working on.  I am hoping it will look more like a mouse once I get the details added,  Again, stay tuned.
I hope you are having as lovely a weekend as I am xxx

Finished

Yes, I finally got Sassy's 100 tags finished (sigh) and with any luck they are winging their way to her now.  I was really happy with the way they turned out.  So now it it onto another 5 books for Sharyn and three little birds for Kristen from LuLus Lamps
Some days I really love my life!!

Flowers

Have I mentioned that I LOVE drawing flowers, or have you picked up on this theme in my previous posts?  Anyway I do love drawing flowers :)
These ones are done using white pigment ink on paint sample cards.  The colours of the cards seem almost endless, they are strong and  I consider this use for them my way of upcycling.
They are about 7.5cm in diameter and with the help of a little blutac, they add a bit of fun to a wall, window or mirror.

Serenity

Serenity is something I strive for, find elusive in this crazy world....but once found is a VERY precious thing :)
I made this little accordion book with the first part of the Serenity prayer in it, as a reminder.
May you find serenity when you need it.

Wooden Wonders

My very talented and totally wonderful Dad made this bowl and tea light holder for me out of wood :) Check out some of his wooden pens here.  Both he and my Mum are coming up for a visit this weekend, for my birthday.  I don't know who is more excited - me or my kids!!  See you next week xxx

Watch this space

When I need a break from drawing (read - I cant feel my hand) I turn to one of my former favourite past times - jewellery making. These are some of the pendant watches I have in my madeit shop at the moment.  They all feature Swarovski Crystals on long chains.  I LOVE the look of them but I have been very good so far and have only managed to convince myself to keep two!! How many watches does one person need!!!

Teasing Sas again

100 swing tags for Sas.  All of the hand colouring is done and most of the construction is complete.  There is light at the end of the tunnel :)  All that remains is the hole punching and string attaching.  I am really happy with they way they are turning out.  I will almost (but not quite) be sad to see them go!!

Places and Portraits

Friend Bill is having an exhibition of his brilliant photographs.  If you are in the Brisbane area between 25th March and 7th April 2012 go along have a look and support a local Artist.  You wont be disappointed :)

For Sassy

I am making 100 swing tags for the lovely and very talented Sassy of Saseleven and I promised her I would tease her with a look at how they are progressing.
So here is some of what I have done.  I am  3/4 of the way through the colouring stage and am still enjoying it.  Stay tuned for further updates :).

Magnet Monday

Ever noticed that small magnets are hard to get off the fridge and don't hold more than one piece of paper?
These are some examples of my answer to the school artwork display dilemma.
They have an MDF base and each have 3 strip magnets on the back.  They are also rather large - 8cm or there abouts.  They hold up everything and make the fridge a much cheerier place :)
These three and a couple of others are available in my madeit shop.
HAPPY MONDAY.

Little books galore

These 8 little books were a special order for the lovely Sharyn.  They were so much fun to make and they are all going to good homes.  And she has asked me to make another 20 of them!!  Am I in heaven or what!!!
Some of the 20 have to be "boy" orientated, so that will stretch my brain a bit :)

Just a Thought

These are pages from a little book that I made for Melissa.

It measures 7.5 x 7.5cm and all of the images are hand drawn with fine line markers and them coloured in with colour pencil.  Making these little books is very addictive.  The lovely Sharyn has asked me to make her 8 of them (but even smaller)  How could I refuse!!!
I will show them to you when they are all done - I have 3 to go.

Hello and welcome to my blog :)

Hello there!!! I was hoping to impart some profound and thought provoking words of wisdom to kick of my blogging endeavour - but the best thing that comes to mind is "Yippppeee", so I am going to go with that :)
The above picture is an A5 notebook and matching pen. The drawing is done using fine line markers and colour pencils and is of Joey the Wonder Cat in a field of flowers.
